Oil Leak Repair and Oil Filter Housing Gasket Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E60, E61 - Years 2003-2010

Open the hood and locate the oil filter position. Remove the cooling cover (simply clipped) located directly in front of the filter. Lift the front of the car using jack stands or a lift. Unscrew the screws that secure the plastic shield underneath the engine. Once done, keep the car raised only on the driver's side so it tilts to one side (passenger side). Disconnect the coolant line and let it drain into a container. Using a proper wrench, remove the oil cooling system in front of the filter. Remove the gasket from its housing with a screwdriver. Before inserting the new gasket, clean the part well. To reassemble, follow the same steps in reverse order. The car shown in the images is a BMW 5 Series.
