Replacing the Car Fan

Model: BMW Serie 7 E66, E67, E68, E65, MK 4 - Years 2001-2008

This guide shows how to change the cooling fan in your car. First, completely drain the car's cooling system by letting the fluid out of the radiator through the drain hose. Disconnect all electrical connections before touching anything and check if you can remove the fan without touching the radiator, or if it is snap-fitted. Also, check if the coupling and the fan can be removed as a unit or if they are secured independently with bolts and screws. A couple of taps on the metal behind the plastic should be enough to release the fan.
