This short video tutorial shows you the step-by-step procedure to reset the maintenance light on your BMW 5 Series. It is recommended to perform this procedure only after completing the service; no tools or software are required.

To reset the light, press and hold the button on the left side of the dashboard, while holding it, turn on the ignition. After the dashboard lights up, release the button and press it again to navigate through the menu until you find the oil light, which is the maintenance light.

Once located, hold the button to bring up the reset option. When the reset option appears, release the button and press it again to confirm the reset.

At this point, the procedure is complete, and you can restart the dashboard.
