Removal and Replacement of the Rear Control Arm on BMW 7 Series

Model: BMW Serie 7 MK 3, E38 - Years 1994-2001

To remove and replace the rear control arm, proceed as follows: 1) Lift the vehicle off the ground using a jack or lifts. 2) Remove the rear wheel on the affected side. 3) Locate and loosen, without completely removing, the bolt that connects the control arm to the wheel hub. 4) Locate and remove the bolt that connects the lower arm to the control arm. 5) Remove the bolt that connects the control arm and hub. 6) Remove the control arm. 7) Install the new control arm. 8) Secure the control arm to the wheel hub with its bolt. 9) Secure the control arm to the lower arm with its bolt. 10) Reinstall the wheel.
