How to Change the Key Battery of the BMW

Model: BMW Serie 1 MK 2, F20, F21 - Years 2011-2019

To replace the battery, first remove the metal part of the key by pressing the button at the top of the back. You can easily extract it. Now, using a flathead screwdriver or the key itself, press into the gap between the rear cover and the rest of the key. You now have access to the battery slot. Using a plastic tool, lift out the battery and remove it. Install the new battery and retrace your steps to reassemble the various components of the key.
