How do you change the battery in the key fob of your BMW 1 Series? Follow these detailed steps. Take your ignition remote and extract the metal key. Once the key is removed, insert a small screwdriver into the notch of the plastic remote and remove the cover. Use a small screwdriver to extract the worn battery and replace it with a new one of the same type. Refit the cover on your remote by pressing the key case until you hear a click.
