How to replace the battery of a BMW X3 key?

To replace the battery of a BMW X3 key, start by locating the release button located on the side of the key. Press this button to extract the emergency mechanical key. Once extracted, look for a small slot or opening in the key shell. Use a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool to gently pry open the key shell. Once opened, locate the battery, usually a button battery, and carefully remove it. Take note of the orientation of the battery to ensure you insert the new battery correctly. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the previous one, making sure it is securely in place. Carefully close the key shell, pressing until you hear a click confirming the correct closure. Finally, reinsert the mechanical key into its housing. Verify that the key functions properly by testing it on the vehicle.
