In this video, see how to change the battery of the emergency system in the BMW X1. The battery is installed directly in the rescue module, located on the ceiling, directly under the arch of the external antenna. To access the battery, remove the headliner slightly by moving the trunk seal, which will allow access to the ceiling cavity.

Once removed, lower the arch slightly to release the clips so you can reach the modules. Here, you will find a plastic clip through which you can push the module toward the front of the vehicle to move it without disconnecting the wires to open the white plastic door; once opened, simply remove the battery and replace it. All of this can be done without disconnecting the car battery, and no subsequent programming is necessary.
