What are CC-ID Codes and How to Obtain Them on a BMW Vehicle

First, what are CC-ID codes? They are a set of unique identifiers associated with various electronic components of the vehicle. They allow precise identification within the vehicle's electronic system, enabling technicians to accurately locate the faulty component.

Additionally, these codes can be used to associate specific software updates, ensuring that every part of the vehicle has the latest firmware. CC-ID codes are stored in the electronic control units, and in the video, we can see how users can read them: turn on the ignition using the start button, then press the "BC" button located on the lever to the left of the steering wheel and scroll through the menu until reaching "check". Press the lever down and hold it to display the CC-ID codes.

Pressing again will show additional codes.
