Buick Regal - Video tutorial

Model: Buick Regal MK 5 - Years 2009-2017
Part: Checks and maintenance
Operation: How to change the oil on a Buick Regal

The best oil for the Buick Regal is SAE 5W30 and - depending on the engine size and type, it requires 4.7 to 6 liters of oil - it should be changed approximately every 12 months. Now let's safely lift the car, without relying too much on our jack. Immediately identify the filter, which is a bright electric blue color. Next to it, we find the oil drain plug. Place an appropriate container underneath to collect the used oil, which we will dispose of following our municipality's guidelines. Use the appropriate wrench to remove the filter (it will also release some oil) and replace it with a new one. Before screwing it back on, fill it well with new oil. Close the drain plug, perhaps changing the gasket so that we don't regret it after a few kilometers. Now it's time to top up with new oil, using a funnel to pour all the liquid back into the reservoir. Measure it with the dipstick. Now reset the oil indicator light. Turn on the ignition and press the button on the right side of the steering wheel. Use the central button to scroll through the menu until you reach the oil change symbol, where it indicates that there is no percentage left for the change. Press the right button to make the word "reset" appear. Confirm; the choice "yes/no" appears. Press "yes". Confirm and now the message "100% remaining" appears. Job done.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
