How to Change the Oil on a Buick Regal

The best oil for the Buick Regal is SAE 5W30, and depending on the engine size and type, you will need between 5 and 6 quarts of oil. Change it approximately every 12 months. Safely lift the vehicle, without relying too much on your jack. Immediately locate the filter, which is a bright electric blue color. Next to it, you will find the oil drain plug. Position a suitable container underneath to collect the used oil, which you will dispose of according to your local regulations. Use the appropriate wrench to remove the filter (this will also lose some oil) and replace it with a new one. Before reinstalling it, fill it well with new oil. Close the drain plug, possibly replacing the gasket to avoid regrets after a few miles. Now it's time to top off the new oil; using a funnel, pour all the liquid back into the reservoir. Check the level with the dipstick. Now reset the oil light. Turn on the ignition and press the button located to the right of the steering wheel. Use the center button to scroll through the menu until you reach the oil change symbol, which indicates that there is no percentage left for the change. Press the button on the right to bring up the "reset" option. Confirm; a "yes/no" choice will appear. Press "yes". Confirm, and now the message "100% remaining" will appear. Job completed.
