To replace the shift boot on a Chevrolet Sail, pry at the base of the boot with a tool to release the clips located there. Once the retaining clips at the base of the boot are released, you can lift the boot off the shift lever completely. Then, install the new boot, securing it properly to the knob; finally, attach the clips at the base of its housing, ensuring the boot is firmly in place.
