How to Remove the Tailgate on a Chevy Silverado

In this video, see how to remove the tailgate from a Chevy Silverado: it is actually much easier than you might think, as there are no screws to remove. You will only need a helper, as the tailgate is heavy. This method works even if the tailgate is damaged, as is the case in the video. First, open it completely by lowering the cargo area, then push the hinge to one side so that the bolt where the hinge rotates comes out on that side. Go to the other side, remove the clip that stops the hinge's movement, and push the tailgate all the way to the other side. At this point, it is already free. While your helper holds it from the side that is already completely free, remove the clip from the side you freed first. Take the tailgate in hand and place it on the ground. Job done!
