How to Replace the Key Battery of the Chrysler 200

The following procedure can be easily performed by all owners of a Chrysler 200 or 300. In fact, the smart key model is almost identical, and consequently, the battery replacement involves the same steps. First, press the small button located at the top of the cover and pull out the physical emergency key. Next, using the same key, gently pry and remove the cover. Right underneath, you will have access to the old button cell battery. Replace it with a new one, and finally, correctly refit the cover. Don’t forget to reinsert the physical key as well.
