Replacement of the hood cable of a Citroen C3 MK1

In this video we can see how it is possible to replace the hood cable of a Citroen C3 MK1 with that of a bicycle. It is an emergency replacement, also made to have the lowest possible expense, but it works. In fact, for 5.87 Brazilian reais (less than a euro) the repair was carried out. The procedure is simple: first we will remove the old cable, which goes from the release lever inside the cabin to the hood opening mechanism; disconnect the cable from the release lever; it may be necessary to partially remove the panel under the steering wheel to access it. We follow the cable through the engine compartment, disconnecting it from the mounting points. For the installation of the new cable, we follow the path of the old cable, connect it to the hood opening mechanism, pass it through the firewall and connect it to the release lever inside the cabin, then make sure the cable is well tensioned and that the mechanism works, doing some operation tests, before reassembling the panels.
