How to Remove the Timing Belt on a Citroen Xsara

Here's how to remove and replace the timing belt on a Citroen Xsara. Lift the car on a column lift (if necessary, remove the front wheel using a screwdriver to take off the right wheel arch liner). Use a spanner to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the securing bolt of the tensioner pulley and remove the auxiliary belt from its housing. After removing the belt, fit the tensioner and the timing belt, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Finally, fit the rivets with the wheel arch liner and refit the wheel with the tyre onto the vehicle.
