How to Remove the Alternator on Citroen Xsara

Replacing the alternator on a Citroen Xsara Picasso, let’s look at the removal process. Lift the engine bonnet and secure it, locate the power battery and disconnect the terminals. Raise the car using a column lift and work underneath if more convenient. Unscrew the bolts with a socket spanner, being careful not to damage the wiring harness membranes, and unscrew all securing bolts of the alternator. Insert the new alternator into the appropriate housing, tighten the side bolts of the alternator and connect the belt. Check the correct voltage with a tester by connecting it to the battery.
