Let's see how to change the battery in the remote of a Citroen C4 Cactus: you will only need a thin flathead screwdriver. Look at the remote from the back. The battery is hidden behind the cover, so you will need to find the gap on the edge of the cover, inserting the tip of the screwdriver into the gap and prying it open. This will give you access to the battery (a common CR2032 that you can find at any supermarket or electronics store) which you will remove from its housing; place the new one in its place, ensuring the correct polarity, and close the two halves of the remote. That's it.
