Disassembly and Replacement of the Fuel Filter

If the engine is not receiving fuel, a problem may lie in the malfunction of the fuel pump. Before disassembling the pump, remove the connector and use a tester to check that 12V power is present.

If not, the fault may be a blown fuse. If electrical power is present, lift the protective cover and use a spanner to remove the side retaining ring of the fuel pump housing.

Gently lift the cover, being careful of the power cables. To extract the pump, slide off the fuel line and pull it out vertically, allowing any contained fuel to drain.
