This guide shows how to replace the gear selection cable on the Citroen Xsara Picasso. To perform this operation, lift and secure the vehicle. From underneath, detach the engine protection cover held in place by several bolts and the heat shield of the exhaust. Once the gear cable terminal is located, unscrew the termination. Next, move into the cabin to remove the lower part of the dashboard to access the other end of the cable and detach it. After fitting the new gear cable, adjust the travel from the engine bay; by removing the air filter, you can access the adjustment knob.
