Replacing the Battery of the Citroen C3 1.4 HDi

To replace the battery of the vehicle, follow these steps: switch off the engine and pull the lever to open the bonnet located at the bottom under the dashboard on the driver's side. Open the bonnet; the battery is located at the top right of the engine bay. Open the cover above the battery and loosen the nuts on the positive terminal using a socket spanner, then remove the electrical cables. Lift the terminal block and extract it. Next, remove the cover above the battery by sliding it off. Remove the control unit located to the side and lift off the battery cover. At this point, you will have access to the battery itself. Proceed to unscrew and remove the negative terminal. On the long side of the battery at the bottom, there is a locking tab that needs to be pushed sideways to unlock the battery. Lift the battery, and clean the terminals if necessary. Take the new battery and grease the terminals, insert the battery into the housing and secure it again by clicking the tab back into place. After that, reattach the negative terminal, replace the battery cover, and reposition the control unit and cover with the electrical cables. Finally, reconnect the electrical cables and close the upper cover.
