How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Dacia Logan

To remove the gear knob on a Dacia Logan with a manual transmission, park the vehicle, engage the handbrake, and put the gear lever in neutral. Release the gaiter frame from the centre console using a plastic lever, then lift the gaiter towards the knob. Free the top of the trim to better access the base of the handle. The original knob, on many versions, is press-fitted onto the lever and is not screwed on. Grip it firmly with both hands and pull it decisively upwards, making small lateral movements if necessary. Once removed, position the replacement on the lever, align it correctly, and push it down until fully secured, then reattach the gaiter to the console.
