Dodge Durango - Video tutorial

Model: Dodge Durango MK 3, WK2 - Years 2011-2023
Part: Oil filter
Operation: How to replace the engine oil and oil filter in a Dodge Durango.

In this video tutorial we see how to replace the engine oil and oil filter in a Dodge Durango. The first thing to do is to get in the car, turn off the car and apply the handbrake. Lift the bonnet and secure it with the special rod. Remove the cap on the engine cover to see where the oil filter is housed. We lift the car with a hydraulic jack and place jack stands under the safety car. Place a container to collect the used oil under the oil pan; with a 13mm wrench, we need to unscrew the oil drain plug (use personal protective equipment: gloves and goggles) and wait until all the oil is drained. Screw the drain plug back on with the key. Now let's lower the vehicle to the ground and light up with a torch to be able to see the oil filter better; with a ratchet wrench with 24 mm insert and extension, we go to unscrew the filter cap anticlockwise, then we must remove the old oil filter and immediately place it inside a container; install the new gasket into the oil filter cap, and then lubricate the gasket with clean oil. Screw the new filter by hand and then complete the screwing with the special wrench with extension. Put the cap back into the engine cover. This vehicle requires approximately 6 liters of oil (SAE 5W-20), use a funnel to top up engine oil.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
