How to replace the oil filter in a Dodge Avenger

Model: Dodge Avenger MK 1 - Years 2008-2013
Part: Oil filter

In this video tutorial, we can see how it is possible to replace the oil filter in a Dodge Avenger, following some simple steps that will allow you to work independently. The first thing to do is to purchase a new oil filter from an authorized dealer. The next step is to get into the car, turn off the engine, and engage the handbrake; lift the hood and secure it with a proper rod. Remove the engine cover, use a socket wrench with a 15 16 insert, or an adjustable wrench to unscrew the oil filter cap. Remove the old oil filter and snap the new oil filter into the cap, as shown in the video; replace the old gasket with a new one. Insert the new filter into the housing and tighten it with the adjustable wrench, without overtightening, as it is made of plastic and could break. Reposition the engine cover in place.
