In this video we see a common problem with Fiat 500: it happens that when steering, the steering wheel stiffens. This is due to the fact that a sensor located on the steering column can no longer recognize the exact angle. In fact, an examination of the power steering control unit reveals an anomaly in the steering angle sensor. What we need to do now is to remove the steering wheel, which is shown here in a rather summary way, until reaching the disassembly of the steering column into two parts, the primary and the secondary one that is attached to the motor and the control unit. On the steering column is located the steering angle sensor that reads the position and degrees. The control unit shows that the problem is precisely this sensor, so it must be replaced and then re-initialized with values related to the power steering.
