How to repair a chronic defect of the Fiat Grande Punto that doesn't work: the rear door handles

In this video we can see how to solve a chronic problem of the Fiat Grande Punto, especially in the early years of production, that is the locks of the rear doors: the defect is the space that is created between the lever moved by the handle, and the plastic piece that pulls the cable that then releases the door. The repair consists in adding a substantial thickness to the lever arm. Actually removing the panel and removing the lock is not difficult, just remove the visible screws and remove the fixing screw of the handle. You will definitely find a dedicated tutorial on our platform. Let's focus on reassembly instead: we need to fit the lever into the hole shown by the youtuber in the video. Once it is fitted, tighten the 8mm nut, holding the handle steady from the other side, and then the 13mm nut on the other side. Let's also reassemble the cable sliding bar, held in place by two 10mm bolts.
