How to Change the Oil and Filter on a Fiat Ducato MK3

Here’s how to change the engine oil and filter on a Fiat Ducato MK3: open the bonnet and unscrew the oil filler cap. Warm the oil by running the engine at idle for 5 minutes; add a pre-change cleaner, such as Liqui-Moly Pro-Line, which you can find on eBay with code 236309124473 for £17.66, with free delivery in 2 days. Run the engine for 10 to 15 minutes (do not drive the vehicle after this treatment!). Lift the vehicle, securing it on axle stands, remove the protective cover and place a large container under the drain plug. Allow the contents of the sump to drain completely (dispose of the used oil properly at an authorised centre). From underneath, access the filter by unscrewing it counter-clockwise; add it to the used oil. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with clean oil and screw it in by hand. Replace the plug and seal of the sump, reposition the cover and lower the vehicle. Now pour 90% of the recommended oil quantity through the filler cap. Screw the filler cap back on and start the engine for 30 seconds to fill the filter. Turn off and check the oil level with the dipstick: add oil gradually until reaching the maximum level.
