How to Reset the Service Light on a Fiat 500X

On the Fiat 500X (2021/2022 models), resetting the service light requires a bypass cable for the security gateway: you can find this cable on Amazon with the code B0DNYGJ3CB for £29.31, with free delivery. This cable prevents access to the control unit without authorisation. The cable connects to the gateway module, located under the dashboard on the driver's side. To install it, remove the plastic panel under the steering wheel, unscrew the screws, and locate the black module with two connectors. Disconnect the connectors and insert the bypass cable, connecting the diagnostic computer (e.g., MultiECUscan). Turn on the ignition, go to "Service" and select "Oil reset". For resetting the rear brakes (electronic), enter "Maintain modes" and activate the procedure with the brake pressed. Reassemble everything and verify. The cable is a one-time investment that avoids dealer costs. The system will perform the reset; exit the menu and turn off the ignition.
