What to do if you have problems with the alarm and volumetric sensors

Especially on campers and vans, like this Fiat Ducato, the alarm may sound for no apparent reason, particularly at night. The cause is often the volumetric sensor set to a sensitivity that is too high, interpreting harmless movements, such as a leaf on the windscreen, as intrusions. Identify the error code; on the next ignition after the alarm has triggered, the alarm LED will flash in a specific sequence: this sequence is a code that can be decoded using the alarm manual. The control unit is often located behind removable plastic panels: locate the two connectors, where you will find a small adjustment screw: using a very small screwdriver, turn the screw to the left (minimum sensitivity) then turn it to the right by 2-3 mm to set the sensitivity to 1/5 of the maximum power. Close everything up and test the alarm to ensure it only protects the interior of the cabin.
