Removing the Dashboard on Fiat Grande Punto

If you need to remove the central dashboard for painting or replacement, this brief tutorial will provide all the step-by-step instructions. The first step is to remove the radio and the upper air conditioning vents from the centre console by unscrewing only the retaining screws and without removing the lower climate controls. Now remove the plastic trim of the instrument cluster and extract the switch panel to the left of the steering wheel by unlocking the 3 metal clips located on the sides of the insert. The next step is to pull off the horizontal chrome trim on both sides of the dashboard, prying it off sideways with a screwdriver or flat tool. You can now proceed to remove the plastic parts, being careful with the long pieces that may break: therefore, equip yourself with patience and a flat screwdriver, and ensure that you have released all the clips before removing the plastics from the fascia.
