Fiat 500 - Video tutorial
Model: Fiat 500
312
- Years 2007-2023 In this video we will see how to replace the brake pads and how to remove the calipers and discs. First let's go to remove the rim bolt cover. With a wrench we loosen all the bolts counterclockwise, lift the car off the ground with a jack and remove the bolts from the rim. We pull away the wheel and we find ourselves in front of the disc and its caliper. On the left side of the caliper you will notice that there are two bolts, once identified, unscrew them counterclockwise. Remove the bolts and set them aside. Now you can remove the brake caliper, placing it gently so as not to pull or twist the hose to which it is attached. Now disconnect the electrical connection of the braking sensor. Once the brake caliper has been removed, we must remove the bracket that blocks an output of the disc with the help of a hammer. Now insert another bracket, then also disconnect the braking sensor behind the hub and insert the new one. Now also remove the 17mm caliper mounted from behind the hub by unscrewing the bolts that keep it attached to the hub, you can find them in the part towards the inside of the car, there are two. Now only the brake disc will remain, which can be removed by pulling it towards you. Now we can insert the new disc and the wheel centering pins. Reinsert the calipers with the new pads following the reverse procedure. Secure the bracket with the retaining clip and retighten the bolts as before. Once the brakes have been reassembled, we can put the wheel back in place and screw the bolts back on. Finally, we put the hub cover back on and let the car return to the ground.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHandbrake adjustment on Ford EcosportFirst remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base. by ScegliAuto More videos
