Replacing the Fuel Filter on a Fiat 500

To change the fuel filter on your Fiat 500, you will need ramps or something to lift the car slightly, as you will need to work underneath. After raising the vehicle, easily locate the filter near the fuel tank: place a container under the filter to catch any fluids and remove its side clips; disconnect the two pipes from the filter, taking care to note the fitting direction. Carefully empty the fuel from the filter and unscrew the filter from its mount: you will remove both pieces together. Remove the old filter and fit the new one, ensuring the flow direction matches between the mount and filter. Remove the protective caps from the new filter! Refit the filter, ensuring the flow direction is correct. Reattach the clips connecting the filter to its pipes, without overtightening to avoid damage. Now start the engine and let it run for a few minutes until the engine reaches a stable RPM. Check for any leaks from the new component! Dispose of the used filter properly. The job is complete.
