Replacing the oil filter and engine oil on the Fiat Punto model 188 is a very simple task that can be done independently. Start by opening the front bonnet and removing the filter cap using a 27mm socket. Once the cap is removed, you can take out the filter from its housing. After thoroughly cleaning the cap and gasket, install the new filter and refit the cap. Continue the operation by lifting the car. Using a 12mm socket, remove the drain plug from the oil sump and let all the oil drain out. Once the tank is empty, close everything up and lower the car back to the ground. Remove the oil filler cap located in the front compartment and pour in the new oil.
