Disabling the Start/Stop System on a Fiat Tipo

The Start/Stop system on the Fiat Tipo is designed to turn off the engine when you are stationary at a traffic light and restart it when you move off. However, some users prefer to disable this function. To do this, you need to know that part of its operation is based on a sensor reading the battery voltage. Locate this sensor, which is positioned laterally on the negative terminal, connected with a connector that you will disconnect and place in a safe position. After driving a few miles, the system will adjust to the new condition and the Start/Stop will no longer activate, with only the warning light on the dashboard reminding you of the deactivation.
