When deciding to restore an engine, do not limit yourself to a simple overhaul or slightly more in-depth maintenance. To truly speak of restoration, the engine must be completely disassembled down to the last screw. Each individual part must be cleaned, degreased, and inspected for any damage. During reassembly, it is advisable to install new gaskets, bearings, oil seals, piston rings, big end bearings, spark plug leads, etc., while respecting the torque specifications and properly adjusting the valve clearance. It is also advisable to repaint the metal parts with high-temperature specific paint: the final result will be excellent.
