This guide will explain the operation of the new Hybrid engine version of the Fiat 500, which is also installed on the Panda. The addition of the electric motor ensures a further reduction in CO2 emissions and consequently lower fuel consumption; it is paired with a new 1.0L 3-cylinder engine. The electric motor provides additional thrust by recovering energy during braking and deceleration; furthermore, by putting the gearbox in neutral (when indicated on the dashboard and at a speed below 19 mph), the vehicle will switch off the combustion engine, allowing it to move by inertia in urban use.
