Disassembly of Front Door Electric Lock

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004

Using a Torx key, remove the securing screws located at the bottom and side of the door panel. Remove the handle trim to access the screws that also need to be removed. Also remove the plastic covers from the pillar and detach the window winder knob to take it off. Gently push upwards on the panel to unclip it and remove it. Remove the plastic backing panel using a tool to cut the sealant. Once removed, you can access the lock. Unscrew the screws on the side of the lock and those hidden under the plastic caps to remove the external handle. Unscrew the screws on the side of the door to remove the lock assembly. The lock will need to be extracted from its housing after disconnecting the electrical cables and the return cable.
