How do you replace the driver's side spring in a Ford Transit Mark 8?

Replacing the steering wheel spring on the driver's side of a Ford Transit Mark 8 requires attention and patience, but it is not an impossible task. Start by disconnecting the battery to avoid short circuits or accidental activation of the airbag. Remove the steering wheel cover, unscrew the bolts holding the steering wheel to the steering column, and disconnect the airbag, being careful with the connectors. Then, locate the spring, which is usually located under the steering wheel. Use pliers to remove it gently, without damaging other components. Place the new spring, making sure it is well centered and secured. Finally, reassemble the airbag and steering wheel, being careful with the connections. Test the new spring to ensure it functions correctly. If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, contact an expert.
