How to replace the motor resistor of a Ford Escape ventilation system

Replacing the motor resistor of the ventilation system of a Ford Escape requires the use of a Phillips screwdriver, a ratchet with a socket wrench, and a new resistor. Before starting, it is advisable to disconnect the negative battery cable. Get inside the vehicle and locate the resistor, which is located under the passenger side dashboard. You will need to remove the glove box for easier access. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and gently pulling the connector. Unscrew the two mounting screws of the resistor and remove it; place the new resistor, secure it with the appropriate screws, and reconnect the electrical connector.
