- Years 2014-2024 To replace the battery of the Ford Transit remote control, you can press the button located on the top of the device to lift the keychain. Once the keychain is lifted, you can pry inside the housing to detach the panel on the back of the device. After removing this panel, you can remove the underlying battery to replace it with a new one. After the replacement, you can close the remote control by fixing the back panel again.
