By law, when transporting children in a rear-facing child seat, it is mandatory to disable the passenger airbag, as it could cause more harm than good to the small occupant in the event of a collision.

The switch to turn to the "off" position is located on the outer side of the glove compartment for left-hand drive models, and inside the glove compartment for right-hand drive models. Turning this switch will also illuminate a light in the centre of the dashboard to remind you that the passenger airbag is disabled.
