How to Replace the Shift Cable on a Ford Fusion

This guide provides the main instructions to remove and replace the shift cable on a Ford Fusion. First, open the hood and locate the transmission cable at the bottom, above the transmission case; to remove the cable from the lever, you need to disassemble the entire center console, allowing access to the underside and disconnecting the cable from the lever. At this point, disconnect the sheathed cable from the engine bay, pulling it out and replacing it with the new original one; reassemble and connect the new transmission cable, reassembling the center console.
