In this tutorial, you will see how to unlock the automatic transmission in a Ford Fusion, an emergency operation to perform if the battery is dead and you need to shift the transmission into neutral. To do this, get a flathead screwdriver or better yet, a plastic spatula to avoid damaging the interior. Then, disengage the right side panel of the center console. Once done, locate the red lever inside the indicated hole, push it forward, and simultaneously shift the gear lever to the desired position.
