How to Remove the Fuel Pump from a Ford Escort

How do you remove the fuel pump from a Ford Escort? First, disconnect the battery cables; remove the rear seat cushions. Use a socket spanner to unscrew the securing bolts of the metal cap and remove it from its seat (disconnect the power connector). Use a chisel to unscrew the large securing pin of the fuel pump, disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its seat along with the attached parts. Finally, refit the new part in the tank and connect all the hoses.
