How to Reset the Service Light on a 2010 Ford Focus

Resetting the service light on a 2010 Ford Focus can be done without tools. Sit in the driver's seat with the doors closed. Press the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously and hold them down. Insert the key and turn it to the ON position (ignition on, engine off). The display will show the message "Service oil reset in progress". Keep the pedals pressed throughout. When the reset is complete, the display will show "Oil service reset complete". At this point, release the pedals and turn off the ignition. The service light will turn off. If you release the pedals before completion, the procedure will be cancelled, and you will need to repeat it. This procedure is valid for many Ford models of the same generation.
