Battery Replacement and BMS Reset on the Ford Mondeo MK5

Replacing the battery on the Mondeo MK5 (2.0 diesel) requires removing the air filter to access the mounting. Disconnect the connectors and the bracket (8 mm spanner). Remove the terminals (negative first, then positive), protecting the positive with a cloth to avoid shorts. Replace the battery with an EFB type (the old one was likely AGM). Clean the terminals. The BMS (Battery Management System) reset can be done in two ways. Manual method: turn on the ignition, press the brake pedal, and activate the hazard lights ten times. The battery light will flash three times to confirm. Diagnostic method (recommended): connect the scanner, select the BCM module, set the battery type, and start the reset procedure.
