How to remove the steering wheel of a Ford Focus? Follow these steps to disassemble the component. Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery cables. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the side and lower trim of the steering wheel, then remove the airbag by unscrewing the screws (clips). Once the airbag is removed: unscrew the central anchoring bolt, and before proceeding, mark the tightening position with a marker (this will aid reassembly). Next, disconnect the power connectors and proceed to remove the steering wheel. To reassemble everything, work in reverse order.
