How to replace the key shell of a Ford Ka.

Model: Ford Ka MK 2 - Years 2008-2016
Part: Key

In this video we are going to see how to replace the key shell of a Ford Ka. To start we will have to, as shown at minute 2: 15, unscrew the screw that becomes visible on the side of the shell after pressing the opening button. Once unscrewed, the piece, that is the battery container, can be extracted. Then we unscrew the screw located behind the Ford brand plate (which can be extracted simply by levering the side slots). At this point it is possible to open the shell with your hands or with the help of pliers. Once opened we will have to keep the key and the card with the microchip. Now, as shown at minute 5: 30, we can take the new shell: insert the key with the spring inside in the special housing and turn to give the right tension. Then we introduce the electronic board. Now we can put the key ring in the special hook. At this point you can close the shell, making sure to tighten to make it tighten properly. We now put the screw back behind the brand plate housing. We also reinsert the battery compartment and screw. Finally we insert the plate with the Ford brand.
