Replacing the oil filter on the Ford Focus is not difficult to do independently and can be performed whenever you service the car. To access the filter, first remove the air hose by unfastening the two clips that hold it in place. Once the hose is removed, it is easier to access the filter cover, which must be unlatched from its housing. Now you can extract the filter and replace it with a new one. Before reattaching the filter cap, also change its seal. At this point, you can reattach the air hose and reposition the clips.
