How to Remove the Battery from a Ford Escape Mk3

This guide shows how to replace the battery in a Ford Escape Mk3. You do not need to remove the air filter box to perform this operation. After opening the hood, remove the left windshield wiper with a 15 mm wrench. Remove the retaining metal clips from the plastic cover of the wipers and the two T25 Torx screws from the brake fluid reservoir. Unscrew the two 8 mm retaining bolts from the plastic and remove it. Remove the water drainage plate from the windshield after unscrewing the 8 mm bolts. At this point, you can disconnect the two battery terminals, remove the hold-down strap, and finally take out the battery. Replace it with one that has the same specifications as the manufacturer.
