Replacing Rear Drums and Shoes

Lift and secure the vehicle on appropriate axle stands and remove the rear wheel without engaging the handbrake. Remove the drum retaining nuts from the studs, then take off the drum using a screwdriver and a few taps with a hammer. Once the drum is removed, clean the shoes and consider taking a photo of any details before disassembly. Remove the retaining clips and pins, then detach the shoes from the bottom and then from the top, also releasing the handbrake cable. If you notice oil leaks from the wheel cylinder, replace it by first removing the oil pipe from the rear and then the retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new shoes and wheel cylinder, ensuring the springs are secured and bleeding the air.
